Epesses village Grape variety

Vineyard in organic farming

In confidence with nature

Organic vineyard certified by bio-inspecta (CH-BIO-006)

Welcome to our winery, where we exchange between the universe of the vine and the wine in addition to the tasting of our wines. Find us in the middle of the picturesque village of Epesses in Lavaux, a terraced vineyard that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2007.

Blaise Duboux, winemaker and oenologist, is the 17th generation descendent active on this estate, more than five centuries of a beautiful family history. Blaise is one of the few winemakers to practice organic farming in the steep vineyards of Lavaux, where he perpetuates the viticulture of the generations that preceded him, shaping the landscape, taming the vine and enriching the land. It is here that he raises wines that express the finesse and authenticity of the terroirs.

The estate has 5 hectares of vines, 75% of which are Chasselas. The other grape varieties produced are Chardonnay and Marsanne for the whites; Plant Robez – an old selection of Gamay – Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Divico for reds. The Chasselas, the estate’s main grape variety offers five distinctive vintages: two Dézaley, a Calamin, an Epesses and a Villette.

We look forward to welcoming you soon at the estate.

The wine Glass

A wine glass is designed to be a tasting tool used to balance the flavours and the structural elements of a wine. The size, shape and opening of the glass play an important role in the perception of the wine being tasted.

d
The Eye

In the visual phase the color is analyzed. It is an indicator of the age of the wine. Throughout the aging of the wine, it changes color and reflections as a result of the phenomenon of oxidation.

d
The Nose

The «nose of the wine» is the different aromas that emerge from it, defined by the intensity and the quality. The aromas of the wine form a complex mixture that is homogenized and harmonized in the bottle to compose the bouquet of the wine.

An old local tradition

The boat has whistled... we can open a bottle, that’s how we talk about aperitif time here. We welcome you with the pleasure of knowing that we will deepen all 5 of your senses during the tasting experience.

Lavaux, the terraced Vineyards, a UNESCO Word Heritage site

Experience Lavaux by taking a guided tour, visiting a cellar and enjoying a wine tasting

A landscape, a land, a way of life! The mission of the Lavaux World Heritage Association, which works alongside local actors in this unique place, is to pass on a living cultural landscape to future generations, the result of the interaction between the land and its people.
The specificities of Lavaux wines

The different terroirs and microclimates of the vineyards allow for an interesting and surprising declination of flavors in the wines of this Vaud vineyard. At the edge of the lake, the vines are filled with the 3 regional suns: that of the sky and that of the lake thanks to the reverberation that is stored in the walls forming the thousands of terraces of Lavaux. The king grape variety of the region is the Chasselas, a white wine rich in fruits and dry aromas.
